What to Expect During Cabinet Installation
Professional cabinet installation is one of the most important steps in bringing your cabinetry project to life.
How Our Cabinetry Installation Process Works
Before Installation Begins
Before installation, your space should be ready for cabinetry to be delivered and installed. This typically means old cabinetry has been removed, walls and flooring are prepared as needed, and any required plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or framing work has been completed by the appropriate trade professionals.
Our team will review the project details, cabinet layout, delivery timing, and installation plan so everyone understands what to expect before work begins.
What’s Typically Included
Cabinet installation generally includes the setting, leveling, securing, and alignment of the cabinetry shown in your approved design. This may include base cabinets, wall cabinets, tall cabinets, panels, trim, fillers, molding, decorative details, and approved accessories.
Our installers also handle the detailed adjustments needed to make doors, drawers, reveals, and finished components look and function properly. Once installation is complete, we review the cabinetry for final adjustments and touchups related to the cabinet installation.
What’s Typically Not Included
Cabinet installation does not usually include work performed by other licensed trades unless specifically noted in your proposal. This may include plumbing, electrical, appliance installation, countertop fabrication or installation, flooring, drywall repair, painting, tile work, venting, structural changes, or moving walls.
In some cases, these items need to be completed before cabinets can be installed. If something outside the cabinetry scope affects the installation, we’ll help identify the issue and coordinate next steps as clearly as possible.
During Installation
Cabinet installation is active jobsite work. You can expect tools, materials, dust, and normal construction activity while the installers are working. Depending on the size and complexity of the project, installation may take multiple days and may happen in phases.
Our goal is to work carefully and deliberately, not rush through the process. Proper installation requires precision, especially when cabinetry must align with walls, floors, appliances, countertops, lighting, and other finish details.
Final Adjustments and Touchups
After the main cabinet installation is complete, final adjustments may be made to doors, drawers, hardware, panels, and trim. Some touchups are expected with custom cabinetry projects, especially after delivery, handling, installation, and other trades working in the space.
We stay involved through the final details to make sure your cabinetry is completed with the level of care and quality your project deserves.
