A GUIDE TO A SUCCESSFUL CABINETRY PROJECT
Step 1
Schedule a Discovery Call
Let's talk on the phone. We love discussing your project. Let's talk about the costs involved and the potential timeline. We have a pretty good idea of what things cost. *Spoiler alert: that kitchen remodel you did in the 1980s has increased in cost.* Materials costs continue to rise, but don't let that scare you. Together, we'll choose the best materials that look great while also staying within your budget.
Step 2
Questionnaire & Homework
We request that you complete a project questionnaire. This will take approximately 10 minutes. All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer. We'll send you a link and you can complete it at your pace to help us understand what you're looking for. It gives us a sense of your style and taste, and helps us gauge the extent of your project. You'll also collect some rough measurements of your space in advance of your showroom visit.
Step 3
Visit the Selection Studio & Get Pricing
We'll meet in our Selection Studio to review samples to formulate a budget for your project together. This also allows us the time to sit down in person and show you the benefits of each line we offer. This is the fun part! You get to see paints and stains, door styles, cabinet hardware, and more! By the end of the meeting, you'll have the information you need to hopefully choose us as your cabinetry partner. All decision-making parties are required to be present during this meeting.
Step 4
In-Home Measurements
We'll schedule a time to meet in your home or at the jobsite. We'll collect laser measurements of every part of your space and take photos. All decision-making parties are also required to be present at this meeting. Based on our discussions during your showroom visit, we will review each part of the space and talk about the changes that will be made. We'll present some ideas for your consideration and you can give us your thoughts, too!
Step 5
Preliminary Proposal
After the field measure appointment, we'll begin the preliminary design process. We layout your room to scale in our CAD software and place doors, windows, and cabinets. This allows us to provide a to-the-penny cost of cabinets, countertops, hardware, backsplash, and so much more. We'll put it all together and post everything to our client portal. We usually provide 1-2 days for you to review, then we'll discuss the design and related costs.
Step 6
Revisions
The revisions stage is the most exciting. We'll add color to your renderings and add countertops, backsplash, flooring, and appliances. Together, we'll meet at the countertop stores, tile stores, and flooring stores. We'll bring color-matched samples to ensure we choose the perfect complementary textures and colors. Other experts will be on-hand at these stores to help you, too. The revision stage will continue until you're happy with the results.
Step 7
Ordering
It's time to order! The process begins with cabinets, since they typically have the longest lead times. For context, this fits into the process after appliances and before flooring and tile. Approximately two to three weeks from cabinet delivery we'll purchase sinks and faucets, countertop supports, cabinet pulls, and any other materials needed for installation. Most materials, including cabinets, require payment at the time of ordering due to their highly custom nature.
Step 8
Delivery, Demo & Install
Throughout the process, your contractor has been updated regarding the cabinetry progress. After all materials are onsite, any necessary demo work will begin. Our installers make every attempt to minimize the effect on your daily life. They will clean up each day and work quickly to complete the project. As you know, almost every construction project reveals something previously unknown. It's our job to resolve those issues and keep your project on track. We ask for your patience when the unexpected happens.
Step 9
Finishing Touches
After installation, we'll schedule our finishing touches technician to fill nail holes, align drawers and doors, vacuum dust out of cabinets, remove Cabinet Armor, and many other tasks that leave your project ready for use. If other trades are not involved in your project, we usually send in a construction cleaning company to thoroughly clean any affected areas, ensuring we return your home better than when we walked in.
Step 10
Final Walkthrough
At the conclusion of installation, we'll meet to review the project success. Any questions or concerns you have should be addressed throughout the timeline, but this is when we'll wrap everything up.

We're pleased to announce a new location and full cabinetry showroom coming soon. During construction our clients are still able to meet us in our offices and selection studio to review samples, plans and renderings. By appointment only.
